24 Weeks

I can hardly believe how fast this time is going with E & S. They are growing in so many ways... discoveries every day!

E enjoys pointing and she has really started staring at her hands as they play or touch. She also still enjoy screaming and banging her hands (or toys) on the table or other toys. If we lay her on the floor these days - she inevitably rolls onto her tummy and then ends up scooching around in all different directions. This morning I left her on the floor to get a glass of water, and when I came back she was completely off of the blanket totally in a different direction from what I left her.

S has been content not rolling, but if put on her tummy she will squish up her little legs under her tummy and then push herself forward. Scooching in a straight line is her thing - not much turning around, except in the middle of the night in the crib.

Both girls are giggly and enjoy laughing at Jack. Jack will sneeze - or really make any noise - and the girls will just stare at him and laugh. It's so much fun to watch. I started laughing today and Sophie would laugh along with me. She thought my laughter was just the funniest thing.

6 months is just around the corner. We have been trying out some solids - rice cereal, oatmeal, and sweet potatoes mostly. A quick taste of my banana the other day, as well! They haven't put that much interest into it - but seem to be enjoying the food. I have cut back on pushing it because they seem to decrease the formula when they eat solids - which I don't want them to do.

Sophia & Emma: Babies

Break out the outlet covers and cabinet locks. It's closer than we think. Here's the proof.

I'll just rush everything to her, so she won't ever have to move. That'll work, right?

Sigh.

Greg and I were just talking about when we stop calling them "babies." I have no idea. And while I believe they are far from escaping the "baby" title, they are growing and learning at an amazing rate. Every day there's something new.

22 Weeks

She just had to stand up. She was so tired and this was the only way I could get her to stop fussing!

I can't believe it. I feel like we are so busy, even though the girls are becoming a bit more independent. They enjoy playing on the floor on their play mat - listening to music, grabbing and playing with the toys hanging above them! They also really enjoying playing in the exersaucer and jumper - grabbing, leaning, talking... it's great to see and hear.

Emma loves to scream. Blood-curdling scream... although she thinks it's hilarious! She'll scream and then smile up at us. Her first attempt at comedy! Emma is also rolling over - but mostly rolls from her back to tummy and then gets stuck.

Sophia is not rolling over as much - she would much rather laugh at Emma doing all the hard work. Sophia enjoys talking to her toys as she plays with them - and she is laughing a lot these days. Sophie has been the great eater of solid foods - right from the start - and she now leans forward with her mouth open to get more!

I started back to work this week, which means that my Grandma is now watching them on a daily basis. Everyone seems to be adjusting accordingly. Naps are a little off, and the girls are really tired when I get home, but I think it will level out in no time! The girls seem to be loving the GG time during the day. I miss them like crazy - but it's nice knowing they are home. Even if I'm not there with them.
